Why not pop by the popup design museum?

There is still time to catch the Belfast Popup Design Museum, which offers design enthusiasts a way to connect and celebrate the city’s heritage from a distance, through a series of design-focused exhibits appearing in the windows of local, independent arts and culture venues across Belfast city centre.

Part of the Belfast Design Week, visitors can experience ‘Another Belfast Map,’ an opportunity to learn about independent arts and culture organisations within the city centre using interactive Google mapping technology; ‘The Big Draw,’ an interactive installation featuring a local street artist creating a large scale illustration at Tribal Burger; and a range of commissioned interactive design installations addressing the theme of environment at independent locations around Belfast city centre, among other engaging displays and outdoor and online experiences.

Participants, Rachael Campbell-Palmer, Black Box, Elham Hemmat, graphic designer & visual artist; Christine James, organiser, Belfast Design Week (pictured) said the programme will showcase thriving creative and innovation sectors with a vibrant schedule filled with online talks, workshops, podcasts, videos, articles and much more.

Christine James said: “We look forward to encouraging visitors to mix up their routine by grabbing a coffee and exploring the range of window displays available in the heart of Belfast.”

The event runs until November 8, 2020.
