Popular coaches cycle for 19 days to raise funds for NHS

Two enthusiastic personal trainers have embarked on a strenuous 19-day challenge involving a daily 19-mile cycle to raise funds for the NHS.

Amy Wethers, from Portadown, has teamed up with Banbridge woman Jemma Jackson with the aim of raising £1,900.

The pair, who started the exercise adventure six days ago, work out of One Fitness in Portadown and run Arise Training.

“With gyms being closed and lots of our clients working on the front line we wanted to do something to help support them,” explained 28-year-old Amy. “So we are cycling on indoor exercise bikes 19 miles a day for 19 days in a row.” They have already raised over £600 and are hoping to receive more donations in the coming days.

Amy said: “The fun part about the gruelling schedule is that anybody can join us from the comfort of their home via a ‘Zoom’ live feed.”
