Northern Ireland’s only literary agency, The Feldstein Agency, has branched into independent publishing, with the launch of its small press arm, Dalzell Press.

Based in Bangor, The Feldstein Agency was established in 2007 by husband and wife team Paul and Susan Feldstein. Their international client base includes authors such as Anthony J. Quinn, Paul Tweed, Tony Macaulay, and James Mustich Jr.

Paul and Susan were awarded Small Grants funding from Arts Council Northern Ireland last year which has enabled them to establish Dalzell Press and publish three books by local writers. The three launch titles are two memoirs - The Upside of Down by Belfast author, Tara West, and Afraid of the Dark by News Letter journalist and writer, Jonny McCambridge (pictured), and Peninsula, a novel by author and poet Tanya Ravenswater, who grew up in Bangor but now lives in Cheshire.

Susan Feldstein said: “We have a wealth of talent in our small country, but publishing is an extremely challenging environment and there are limited local resources, especially since the recent devastating closure of all Eason braches north of the border. We will always try to get our clients a conventional publishing deal first, but Dalzell Press provides another option for the authors and projects we believe in.”
