Air Ambulance and two ambulance crews sent to 'serious road collision' and two patients taken to RVH

A spokesman from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said they received a 999 call at 8.09am today (25 October) following reports of an road traffic collision in the Collin Road Area, Ballyclare.

It adds that NIAS despatched two emergency crews and one Ambulance Officer to the incident.

The Charity Air Ambulance with HEMS on board was also tasked to the incident.

The spokesman added that following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, two patients were taken to Royal Victoria Hospital by Ambulance.

Earlier the PSNI advised motorists that the Collin Road, Ballyclare was closed in both directions between Church Road and Tildarg Road due to a serious road traffic collision.

An update from the PSNI added that ‘motorists are advised that the Collin Road, Ballyclare is closed in both directions between Church Road and Braepark Road due to a serious road traffic collision’.

The closure has been moved further to facilitate emergency services.

The PSNI statement adds: ‘Please seek an alternative route for your journey’.
