Alert unfolding in south-east Londonderry
A security alert has been declared in Co Londonderry.
Police are currently at the scene of a security alert in the Gelvin Gardens area of Londonderry, off Trench Road to the city’s south-east, following the discovery of a suspicious object.
A number of homes are being evacuated.
The PSNI had no further details at time of writing.
It comes shortly after the major security operation in Carnfunnock, Co Antrim, was declared over.
