Arrest after man struck with bottle during flat assault

A 29-year-old man has been arrested after a man suffered facial injuries in the early hours of Sunday when he was assaulted and struck with a bottle.

Police in Lisburn made the arrest following an incident at a flat at Broom Park Heights in Dunmurry.

During the incident the male occupant of the flat, aged in his 20’s, suffered facial injuries.

A PSNI spokesman said the victim is currently in hospital being treated for his injuries.

The suspect was arrested a short time after the incident on suspicion of aggravated burglary and grievous bodily harm with intent and remains in custody.

Detective Sergeant James Johnston has appealed to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and has any information which may be of assistance to police to contact detectives in Lisburn on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
