The man was detained in the north of the city on Monday evening.

Meanwhile, police have stepped up patrols around the area where Boreland, a prominent UDA member, was shot dead amid fears of retaliation attacks.

Detectives believe that the 46-year-old father-of-three, who was killed outside his home, was the victim of loyalist in-fighting.

Forensic officers were on Monday seen combing the area for clues.
