Arrests in heroin supply investigation

Three people have been arrested in Belfast by officers from the PSNI Reactive and Organised Crime Branch in the latest stage of an ongoing investigation into heroin supply.

A PSNI spokesman said a 37-year-old man and 33-year-old woman were arrested at a house in the Upper Malone area whilst a 23-year-old man was arrested in the Alexander Park Avenue area of North Belfast in connection with the investigation.

Detective Inspector Andy Dunlop said: “We are determined to identify and arrest anyone suspected of supplying this potentially deadly substance.

“These arrests have resulted from working closely with our partners in Belfast City Policing District over many months. The Police Service need more information from the community regarding those bringing this misery to others.

“We again appeal to anyone who knows anything regarding those involved in supplying drugs or any other crime, to contact the Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. You can remain anonymous and will not be identified.”
