Arson attack badly damages flats in Belfast

A block of flats has been badly damaged after an arson attack in east Belfast.

A property at Albertbridge Road was set alight sometime between 2pm and 2.45pm on Monday.

A number of flats were occupied at the time but there were no reports of any injuries.

Police said the attack could have had serious consequences.

A spokesman for the Police Service of Northern Ireland has appealed for any witnesses to contact detectives at Musgrave Street on the 101 non-emergency number.
