Bethany Firth claims bronze at World Para Swimming Championships in Singapore.

Northern Ireland’s Bethany Firth earned a bronze medal for Team Great Britain in the women’s SM14 200m individual medley at the World Para Swimming Championships in Singapore.

It was a second medal for the Seaforde athlete, who earlier in the week stood on the podium alongside Team GB colleagues as runner-up in a clean sweep across para swimming’s S14 100m backstroke.

Back in the pool following maternity leave, Firth has been inspired by her year-old daughter Charlotte.

"I'm the only person she can shout, 'go mummy' for in that pool,” said Firth in a prior a BBC Sport NI interview.

“She won't remember but I can show her whenever she grows up and say that mummy never gave up, mummy kept going.”

Grace Harvey won gold in the women's SB5 100m breaststroke as Team Great Britain added a further six medals to their tally at the Championships.

Harvey finished nearly four seconds ahead of Ukraine's Anna Hontar to win in one minute 42.88 seconds and reclaim the title the 27-year-old last won in 2022, making it Great Britain's 11th gold of the Championships.

"It was such an exciting race with Anna going out fast and that's great competition for the SB5 class, but to bring home the win, I'm beyond happy," said Harvey.

"I've been training breaststroke all season and this was the one, my child, my baby, so I gave it everything today and couldn't have put another stroke in. That was the perfect race for me."
