Body discovered during search for missing woman

A body has been discovered during a search for missing Donegal woman, Ann O' Donoghue.

The body was discovered along the coastline at Horn Head near Dunfanaghy.

The body has been taken to Letterkenny University Hospital.

Retired dentist, Ann O'Donoghue, (68) was last seen walking her dog 'Murphy' in the Annagry area of Donegal on Tuesday.

Mrs. O'Donoghue's car was discovered in Ballyshannon in the south of the county.

Speaking on RTE's Ray D’Arcy Show on Thursday, Mrs. O'Donoghue's family said they were "bamboozled" by her disappearance and described a text message sent by Mrs. O'Donoghue as "unusual".

The Donegal Mountain Rescue Team, which was drafted in to assist with the search for Mrs. O'Donoghue, confirmed the search had been stood down on Thursday evening.
