The Tyrone Times reported that the tragic incident had occurred in a flat located above a hairdressing salon.

Northern Fire and Rescue Service said the blaze was out by the time they arrived at noon.

A spokesperson for the PSNI said they are still working to determine the cause of death, but there has been speculation that it may have been either carbon monoxide poisoning or smoke inhalation.

Mid Ulster District Council chair Linda Dillon, of Sinn Fein, said she was devastated for the McCann family, who operate McCann Fuels in Clonoe.

“My deepest sympathies go to the family,” she said.

“Adrian was a good fella and it’s an awful, terrible thing to happen in the community that a young man like Adrian would be lost.

“He has a big family and I am sure they will be absolutely devastated.”
