An online fundraising campaign has to help Belfast man Ben Crossley '“ who fell from a three-storey building in Lyon at Euro 2016 last month '“ has raised more than £2,000.

The 23-year-old, an avid Northern Ireland football fan who had been coaching children football in the United States, broke his right knee cap in three places, suffered a severe ankle sprain and fractured his face in multiple places including his jaw, nose, cheek bones and eye sockets in the fall.

A post on the gofundme site says: “The reason for this GoFundMe page is to help his parents with the financial implications of all the medical bills they will receive. Ben requires a significant amount of dental work, physical and mental therapy to get him back to where he used to be, and where he should be.”
