Casualties '˜put in ambulances' after crash in Belfast

A number of people have been taken to hospital after a serious crash involving five cars in Belfast tonight.

The crash happened on the Falls Road and has allegedly involved one stolen car.

It has been claimed that three occupants of a stolen vehicle made off from the scene.

At least one car was left lying on its roof.

Paramedics were seen putting casualties on stretchers into ambulances.

The PSNI has yet to confirm any details of what took place.

Four people - including a child - were taken to hospital after the crash.

Witnesses said a car drove through lights and struck a number of other vehicles before flipping over onto its roof, just after 8pm.

One eye witness said three males got out of the car and ran away.

Wreckage was strewn across the Falls Road between Broadway and the Royal Victoria Hospital.

The child was later discharged from hospital while the three adults are believed to have only non-life threatening injuries.
