The Know Your Neighbour campaign is driven by the YFCU and supported by Calor Gas and aims to encourage people in urban or rural settings to get to know their neighbour and help build a more inclusive and happier society.

At the Co Armagh YFC event, it was intended to have the picnic in the grounds of the Palace Stables in Armagh, however due to heavy rain, proceedings were then continued at Collone Young Farmers’ Club hall nearby.

After the picnic, members then set about getting ready to take part in the apple challenge which had been previously won by Newtownhamilton Young Farmers’ Club.

The challenge was blind sheepdog trials in which two members from each club took part; one playing the part of a shepherd commanding the dog’s direction with only whistles and the other playing the part of a blindfolded sheepdog who had to navigate a course set out by the rest of the members in the quickest possible time.

The challenge was won by Collone YFC who now have to set the next challenge for the county.

The afternoon was enjoyed by all and Co Armagh would like to thank everyone who came and who helped organise the event in any way.
