Concerns raised about children's app being used to send explicit messages
Police are investigating a children's app after a quick thinking eight-year-old girl raised the alarm.
The Movie Star Planet App is for 8-15 year-olds and has a private messaging service.
East Belfast PSNI officers posted the warning on their Facebook page.
A police spokesperson said: “We have just returned from a call and wanted to make you all aware of an APP called Movie Star Plant.
“This service appears to be being utilised by individuals who are sending explicit messages to young people and asking where they live.
“Thanks to the quick thinking of an 8 year old girl who went straight to her mum we have been made aware and are investigating.”
