Appeal for social media footage of street assault in NI town - three men in custody helping police with inquiries

Police are appealinf for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Glenavy this morning.

According to a report the incident happened around 7.50am this morning when “a number of males were fighting in the street”.

The statement adds that officers attended the scene and arrested three men aged 18, 33 and 40 on suspicion of a number of offences and are currently in custody assisting police with their enquiries.

Sergeant Jonny Mackenzie said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and I would ask anyone who witnessed the incident or was travelling in the area and may have dashcam footage to contact police in Lisburn on the non-emergency number 101 quoting reference 244 of 10/05/21, or to submit a report online using the non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/.

“We are aware that there may be mobile phone footage of the incident circulating on social media and we would appeal for anyone who may have this footage to provide it to us.
