Police have confirmed that an investigation is ongoing after “a suspected air rifle” was found by a member of the public last night in a NI park.
In a statement the PSNI say the rifle was located “by a member of the public on Sunday evening (April 18th) in the Pitt Park area of East Belfast”.
They added: “The item has been recovered for further examination and an investigation is ongoing.”
Earlier a community post on the ‘Pitt Park’ Facebook page spoke of their concern after “a suspected rifle was found by a child” near a local centre.
