Elderly woman wakes to find burglar walking through her home - culprit leaves after she tells him to leave

A woman in her 70s was left shocked after waking to see an unknown man walking in the landing of her city home.

Detectives are appealing for information following the report of a burglary at the home of the elderly woman in the Ravenhill Road area in the early hours of this morning (September 9th).

Detective Sergeant Eric Fairfield said: “At around 1.55 am this morning, a woman in her 70s was woken by an unknown man walking in the landing of her property”.

Det Serg Fairfield added: “She told him to leave and he made off from the property”.

The man was described as being approximately 5ft 10ins tall, in his 50s and wearing dark clothing.

“It is not believed anything was taken from the property.,” he added.

“Enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area, or who may have CCTV footage from the area should contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 97 of 09/09/20.
