Further arrest after Lurgan searches

Police have made another arrest as part of their operation targeting dissident republican activity in Lurgan

Several people have been arrested in County Armagh by police investigating dissident republican activity.
Forensic teams and a police dog have been carrying out searches at properties in the Lurgan area.
DUP MLA Carla Lockhart has said that 15 homes have been evacuated.

A spokesman said: “Police investigating serious crime in the Lurgan area have arrested a 22-year-old man in the town.

“He has been taken to a police station in Belfast for questioning.”

Four men arrested during search operations in the town yesterday remain in custody.
