The detectives described the operation as "another fine example of teamwork."

"We completed a follow up search in Maghera with the assistance of our colleagues in Tactical Support Group. Further items were seized at the property in Maghera," they said in a social media post today.

"We will keep doing the searches if you can keep providing the information. As always, you can call us on 101, report anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or drop us a PM."

Local SDLP councillor Martin Kearney welcomed the arrest and seizure of drugs.

He said: "As we all know drugs continue to be a scourge which causes pain and harm within our communities.

"It's good to see this interception clearing the local area of these drugs, which destroy the lives of our young people. Good detective work has obviously paid off in this case. The PSNI are to be congratulated on this significant find and follow-up arrest."
