Detectives investigating a report of a serious assault in the Breezemount Close area of Conlig on Tuesday have charged a man.

The 54-year-old is accused of assisting offenders and is due to appear before Newtownards Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

The PSNI had said that a man had recieved stab wounds in the incident.

The investigation into the circumstances is continuing and detectives are keen to reiterate their appeal to the public to come forward with any information they may have, particularly those who may have witnessed the assault.
