Man charged with attempted murder - among other charges - after PSNI knife attack in Londonderry
Detectives investigating a knife attack on officers in Londonderry have charged a man with a number of offences.
The incident involved assaults on four police officers and a custody detention officer on Thursday morning in the Collon Lane area in the west of the city.
One officer was taken to hospital with a stab wound as a result.
Tonight the PSNI have announced that a 21-year-old has been charged with offences which include attempted murder, wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm, assault on police, and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.

He is due to appear at Dungannon Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
Connlan Boyle, 20, from Rosskeen Park in Londonderry, had appeared earlier today before the court charged with three counts of assault on police linked to the same incident, and was remanded in custody.
