Man shot in ‘barbaric’ paramilitary style assault in NI - appeal for information

A man has been taken to hospital after being shot last night.

Officers are appealing for information following the shooting incident in the Meenan Drive area of Derry/Londonderry last night.

The PSNI say that a man in his 20s was shot in the leg shortly after 10.30pm and was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries.

Inspector Hamilton said “Enquiries are continuing and at this stage, we are treating this shooting incident as a paramilitary style assault.
