Man sustains injuries in early morning hatchet attack at NI home - PSNI appeal for information

A man has sustained cuts and swelling to his eye and face in a hatchet attack at his home.

The incident happened around 6.30am today at a house in the Whitehill Pass area of Bangor.

Detectives are appealing for information following the report of the an assault which was carried out by three men.

Detective Constable Hughes said: “We received a report just before 6.30am that a man had been assaulted in a house in the area.

“It’s reported that three people entered the property, one of whom was armed with a hatchet.

“The victim was struck with the blunt end of the hatchet and has sustained cuts and swelling to his eye and face.

“We are appealing to anyone with information, or who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area – whether the group of three or an unknown vehicle, to contact us on 101 quoting reference number 294 of 02/07/29.”
