Man to appear in court today after PSNI raid linked to West Belfast UDA drug dealing

A 35-year-old man has been charged with assaulting police during a police probe into the UDA in west Belfast.

A 35-year-old man has been charged with assaulting police during a police probe into the UDA in west Belfast.

The arrest is linked to a search in a North Belfast home yesterday by Detectives from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force who were investigating criminality linked to West Belfast UDA.

They were assisted by Officers from the Tactical Support Unit and Neighbourhood Policing Team.

He suspect is to appear in Belfast Magistrates court today and is charged with;-

:: Being concerned in the supply of class A controlled drugs

:: Possession of a class A controlled drug, namely Cocaine

:: Being concerned in the supply of a class B controlled drug

:: Possession of criminal property, namely, £860 in cash

:: Four counts of failing to notify Police of a requirement under the Counter Terrorism Act 2008

:: Assault on police and resisting police

Detective Inspector O’Neill of the PCTF said after the raid: “Today’s search and arrest is part of our ongoing investigations into those linked to West Belfast UDA. We continue to ask for the public’s help by getting in touch should they have any information that could assist our efforts.

“We will listen to you and we will act on information you provide. You can call 101, or you can submit a report online using our non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/ .
