Ms. Hanna said she spoke to the PSNI before appearing on the radio programme and they were happy for her to mention the fourth incident.

The fourth incident described by Ms. Hanna did not involve a knife but was described as an assault on a woman by a man matching the description of the person suspected of stabbing three women in others parts of Belfast earlier that evening.

The assault occurred on the lower Lisburn Road, according to Ms. Hanna.

The three stabbing incidents saw a man armed with a knife target women who were walking.

The first incident occurred at approximately 8.10pm on Ormeau Avenue.

The second occurred at approximately 9.00pm on Donegall Square West.

And the third occurred at approximately 10.00pm on University Road.

All three women have been taken to hospital for treatment to their injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.

Police believe the male suspect in all three incidents was riding a pedal cycle.

Police would appeal to anyone who witnessed any of these incidents or anyone who has dash-cam footage to contact police at Lisburn Road on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference numbers 1886; 1943 and 2122 12/10/20, or submit a report online using our non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/.
