Police in Belfast take machete and hunting-style knife off the streets in the city
The PSNI have just released an image tonight of knives which it has seized in Belfast.
It is part of Operation Season's Greetings, which police say involves “increased police visibility and patrols across towns and cities in Northern Ireland, with uniformed and plain-clothed officers focusing on shopping areas, nightlife venues and public transport hubs to deter criminal activity, reassure the public, and support local businesses”.
The force said tonight: “Today, Central Neighbourhood Team have taken these knives off the streets of Belfast and one male has been arrested.
“Knife crime costs lives.
