Property with man and woman inside is petrol-bombed on south Belfast estate

A petrol bomb was thrown at a property in the Downhill Avenue are of Belvoir, south Belfast, this morning.

It happened at around 1.45am, and caused what police said was “significant damage” to the front door.

A man and woman, who were inside the property at the time, were uninjured.

The PSNI said “had the fire not been extinguished so quickly, the consequences could have been devastating”.

They asked anyone with information, or who noticed any suspicious activity in the area, to contact us on 101 quoting reference number 163 of 17/05/20.
