The driver of the BMW is said to have continued to try to evade police before ramming his car into the police vehicle, forcing it off the carriageway.

The BMW was discovered abandoned on a lay-by on the Moneynick Road with the driver thought to have made off on foot across fields towards the Staffordstown Road.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who captured video footage, is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference 1486 25/04/20.
