Road closed after ‘discovery of suspicious object’ - diversions in place

A PSNI statement said: “The Ashgrove Road, Newry, is currently closed due to a security alert following the discovery of a suspicious object.

“Local diversions are in place but motorists should avoid the area and seek an alternative route if possible.

“There are no further details at this stage.”
