Shots fired through living room window of family home - ‘a brutal attack committed by criminals who need to face justice’

It was reported that a number of shots were fired through the living room window of the house shortly after 10pm on Monday evening.
There were no reports of any injuries and enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident.

Hide AdDetectives would appeal to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incident, to contact them in Musgrave on 101 quoting reference number 2337 20/07/20. Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.
Sinn Fein Councillor Ryan Murphy has condemned the attack in Ardoyne as “particularly reckless”.
“This was a particularly reckless attack on a home in Ardoyne,” he said.
“A number of shots were fired into the home of a local woman and a young child.

Hide Ad“Thankfully no one has been injured in this cowardly attack but we could have been looking at a real tragedy here.
“Local people are shocked and disgusted by this shooting.
“I condemn those responsible unreservedly and urge anyone with information on this shooting to bring it forward to the police.”
SDLP Oldpark Councillor Paul McCusker also condemned the shooting in Ardoyne.
He said: “The shooting in Ardoyne was a brutal attack committed by criminals who need to face justice.
“No one can be allowed to intimidate this community.”
“Those responsible have nothing to offer people here.
