Television set stolen from home of man in 80s- police appeal for witnesses

Detectives are investigating a burglary at the home of man in his 80s in the Flax Street area of Belfast on Monday morning.

Detective Sergeant Sam McCallum said: “We received a report on Monday morning that sometime between midnight and 8.00 am, entry had been gained to the property in the Flax Street area and a television was taken.

“A 27 year old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary with intent to steal and is currently in custody.

“Thankfully the television has now been recovered and returned to its owner.

“Enquiries are ongoing and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw any suspicious activity in the area to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 428 of 24/02/20.”
