Threatening letters sent to NI school - security alert declared at second school

A security alert was declared at a school in Northern Ireland on Monday after a member of staff discovered two threatening letters addressed to school.

The PSNI attended both Larne and Inver Primary School and Larne High School on Monday.

“I totally condemn the bomb scare at Larne High school and Larne and Inver Primary School,” said Mid and East Antrim Borough Councillor, Paul Reid.

“This only serves to upset pupils and staff at the school.

“Especially for pupils working towads exams.

“Sadly there are those who want to cause upset by attacking places of worship, war memorials, morals and now schools.

“Such attacks have no place in our society and must stop,” added Colr. Reid.

Larne and Inver Primary School principal, Kirk Patterson confirmed the school received two letters.

“Our school received two anonymous, threatening letters this morning and as a precaution the PSNI were called to address the matter

“At no stage was anyone in any danger and the issue has now been dealt with in line with school and PSNI procedures.”
