Two men detained on suspicion of litany of charges from GBH to growing cannabis

Two men have been detained on suspicion of GBH, weapon possesison and cultivating cannabis.

The man was arrested by police investigating a report of criminal damage and assault in the Forthriver Road area of north Belfast on Sunday May 31.

Detective Sergeant Hollie McCartan said: “A 33-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent, criminal damage, two counts of possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence, possession of a Class B controlled drug, possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply and cultivating cannabis.

“A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent, criminal damage, two counts of possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence, possession of a Class A controlled drug, possession of a Class B controlled drug, possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply and cultivating cannabis.

“Both men have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

“Our enquiries are continuing in relation to this investigation and we are appealing to anyone with information, or who witnessed any suspicious activity in the Forthriver area in the early hours of Sunday to get in touch. Please contact us on 101 quoting reference number 467 of 31/05/20.
