Woman struck with baseball bat and man threatened with machete in house robbery

Detectives are appealing for information following a report of an aggravated burglary at the Conway Court area of north Belfast on Thursday night.

Detective Sergeant Natalie Moore said: “At around 9:30pm, it was reported that five masked men armed with baseball bats forced their way into a house in the area.

“It was reported that a female occupant in her 30s inside the property was struck across the chest during the incident.

“A male in his 20s was also inside the property and it was reported he was threatened with a machete by one of the males.

“The female and male were left badly shaken following the incident. The property was also ransacked, with a number of windows and two television sets damaged during the incident.

“Enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident and police would appeal to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 1918 19/11/20.
