Youths arrested in North Down beauty spot on suspicion of a number of offences including vehicle interference - PSNI praise community for alerting them | youngest only 15-years

Police have arrested four males in the early hours of Thursday in the Helen’s Bay area following reports they were acting suspiciously at cars.

Police in Ards and North Down made the arrests after receiving reports that a group of males were acting suspiciously at cars parked in the Craigdarragh Road shortly after 1am on Thursday morning.

According to the PSNI statement, officers attended and located the suspects, aged 15-years, 17-years, 18-years and 22-years, and arrested them on suspicion of a number of offences including vehicle interference, criminal damage and obstructing police. All four remain in police custody at this time.

Sergeant James Rea said: “This is a great example of policing with the community.

“The prompt report to police by members of the public allowed officers to locate the suspects and take swift, appropriate action.
