Dairy stock sell to 1240 at Markethill

Dairy stock sold to £1240 at Markethill on Tuesday 26th July paid for a calved heifer from a Stewartstown farmer.

A Mayobridge farmer sold two calved heifers at £1080 and £1000 each.

CULL COWS: The 170 cull cows sold in a steady trade. Beef-bred cows to £151 for 746k at £1125. Main demand from £120 to £145 per 100 kilos. Fleshed Friesian cows from £105 to £119 for 620k at £740. Top price £905 for 770k (118). Second quality Friesians from £80 to £95 per 100 kilos with the poorest types from £55 to £75 per 100 kilos.

An entry of Holstein heifer calves from a Crumlin farmer (3-4 months old) sold to £320 each with others from £250 to £315.
