Danske continues support for YFCU European Rally
Kilraughts YFC member Robert Shannon has been picked for the YFCU European Rally 2016 team along with fellow YFC members Ryan Millar (Kilraughts YFC), Craig Burrows (Cappagh YFC) and Kyle McIlwaine (Newtownstewart YFC) who attended the lunch along with YFCU President Roberta Simmons who will join the rally as team leader.
The European Rally will be held in Northern Ireland and hosted by Young Farmers’ Clubs of Ulster for 2016. The theme which has been chosen by the YFCU for this year is “Bridging diversity, Growing together”. The event will be held from 31st July - 7th August 2016.

Hide AdDuring the lunch, Richard Caldwell, Managing Director Business Banking at Danske Bank, congratulated the YFCU members who were successful in gaining a place on the European Rally team. On behalf of Danske Bank he wished Robert, Ryan, Craig and Kyle well and commented that they and Roberta would be excellent ambassadors for their clubs, the Association and Northern Ireland.
The lunch was also attended by other Danske Bank representatives including Robert McCullough, Head of Agribusiness, Nicola McCleery, Head of Marketing and John Henning, Head of Agricultural Relations. Also attending from YFCU were Roberta Simmons, YFCU President; Bob Esler Honorary Treasurer, Michael Reid, Chief Executive Officer and Kerry McGarvey, Events Manager.
Speaking after the lunch, John Henning, Head of Agricultural Relations at Danske Bank said: “We have been proud to support the YFCU European Rally team for almost 40 years giving over 150 members the opportunity to participate in this important annual event. We are delighted, as a Platinum Sponsor of the YFCU, to again support the European Rally which will be held in Northern Ireland this year allowing the Association to showcase all that is good about YFCU and NI rural youth. I have no doubt that the team members will enjoy and benefit from this cultural, educational and sporting exchange with lasting friendships made across all of the participating European rural youth groups.”
