Death of Joanne Thompson, 33, no longer considered suspicious

Police are no longer treating the death of Joanne Thompson in Newtownards last week as suspicious.

It follows the results of what poliec called “a number of tests”.

She had been found at her home in Old Mill Court on July 13.

She was 33.

At the time, Detective Inspector Chris Wilson had said: “We are making enquiries into events leading up to Joanne being found and are making two specific appeals for help from the local community.

“The first is to people who attended a bonfire in the West Winds estate at Dakota Avenue on the Eleventh Night. We want to hear from anyone who witnessed any disturbance or altercation at the bonfire.”

It comes as police also said that the death of Frank Bratley was not suspicious.
