Death of woman in her 30s not believed to be suspicious

It is understood that the PSNI are not treating the death of a woman in Limavady as suspicious.

The PSNI said that shortly after 7.30pm on Tuesday, officers had attended the sudden death of a 36-year-old woman in the Edenmore Park area of the Co Londonderry town.

They added that a post-mortem examination is due to be carried out.

Whilst they said that enquiries are continuing, it is understood that foul play is not presently thought to have played a role in her death.

She was found at a terraced house in the town, which is currently boarded up.

James McCorkell, a DUP councillor for the town, said that the community “is shocked by the death”.

He added: “Everybody is stunned by it, and we’re thinking of her family.”

Party colleague councillor Alan Robinson said: “Very tragic to hear of a loss of a young life.

“She was someone’s daughter, and we express our condolences to the family circle.”
