Driver killed in Co Tyrone collision

A man in his 20s has died after his Peugeot car struck a bridge in Donemana on Friday morning.

The incident occurred on Longland Road around 7.20am.

PSNI inspector Ray Wilson said: “Another male who was also in the car was taken to hospital where he is currently receiving treatment for injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.

“The occupants of a blue Transit van also travelling on the road at the time were not injured.”

Insp Wilson added: “I am appealing for witnesses or anyone who was travelling on the Longland Road this morning to get in touch with police. Please call 101 quoting reference 204 22/07/16.”

The Longland Road, between Cumber Road and Ballyarton Road, remained closed on Friday afternoon.
