Despite emergency services racing to the scene, including the Fire Service and Ambulance Service in addition to the PSNI, a man aged in his twenties was pronounced dead at the roadside.

Police have confirmed he was driving one of the cars involved in the serious crash.

The collision involved a white Scania lorry, a white van, a blue BMW and a white Toyota Auris. The dead man was the driver of the BMW, the PSNI stated.

The van’s driver and passenger have been hospitalised with injuries the police believed to be serious, though the drivers of the Toyota and the lorry were not hurt.

Armagh Road remains closed this evening as officers continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash, with a number of diversions still in place.

Stated Detective Inspector Stewart from the PSNI’s collision investigation unit: “Medical treatment was provided to those injured; however, the driver of the BMW, a man aged in his 20s, was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.
