Premier Christmas Show and Sale at the King's Hall Complex

Entries include many summer show winners including the Ulster, Royal Highland, and the Carlisle Beef Expo last month.

33 Limousin cattle have been entered, 24 Charolais, 12 British Blondes, 11 Beef Shorthorn, 11 Aberdeen Angus, 10 British Blues, 6 Simmental, 3 Herefords.

This year’s judge will be Harry Emslie form Peterhead, Scotland. accompanied by his wife who will judge the young handlers.

Harry is a well known producer of prizing commercial prime stock, having won at all the major shows and sales in Scotland and England including the famous Smithfield event in London.

Timetable of events: Judging of spectacular calves at 10.30am. Beef judging of 15 classes at 11am followed by the young handlers event at approximately 2.30pm. After this judging will take place for the 10 beef championships. Sale of spectacular calves at 5pm.

At approximately 6.30pm in the sale ring the County Butchers champion heifer and bullock will be judged followed by the Ulster’s Housewifes Championships. Then judging for the supreme champion and reserve.

Sale of beef cattle will begin at approximately 7pm, with sale of champions at approximately 8.30pm.

Specially designed prize cards and rosettes available to purchasers of first prize, champion and reserve animals for display purposes.

Transport can be arranged for delivery to abattoirs.

Admission is free and catering available.
