Fire Service evacuate all children from primary school in gas alert, three appliances attending

All children and staff have been evacuated by Fire Fighters at a Newry primary school due to a suspected gas leak.

NI Fire and Rescue Service Group Commander Geoff Somerville said they received a report of a smell of gas at 9.40am today.

He said that three fire appliances are currently at the school carrying out an ongoing investigation.

The school is Bunscoil an Iúir at 74 Kilmory St in Newry.

There are no injuries.
