According to police, Mr Diaczysyn had been withdrawing money from the Bank of Ireland ATM when a blue-coloured Vauxhall Vivaro van that was parked on the street is believed to have rolled back and struck him.

The 63-year-old was taken to hospital for treatment for a suspected fracture to his leg. Unfortunately he passed away in hospital the following morning.

Police are appealing for anyone who was on Main Street in Larne last Wednesday morning and who witnessed the van or the collision, to contact local officers in Larne or the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference number 189 of 22/02/17.
