Funeral for man who died in cemetery fall

Peter Rush, who worked for O’Kane’s Funeral Directors, was found dead in Milltown Cemetery on Saturday.

Police are not treating his death as suspicious.

It is understood Mr Rush, originally from west Belfast and a former employee of Bass Ireland, was aged in his 60s.

He was a keen photographer and one of his friends John Mallon paid the following tribute on Facebook: “Really devastated to hear the news that my very dear photography friend Peter Rush has died.

“Peter was an absolute gentleman. He truly had a wonderful gift. And a great eye.”

Alison Clarke, who runs the ACA model agency, also paid tribute on social media.

She described Mr Rush as a “very long friend and business colleague”.

“Peter was a lovely, lovely client,” she said.

Mr Rush’s funeral will take place at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church at 11am.

He is survived by his wife Maureen and children Nichola, Fiona and Peter.
