Funeral for tragic Newcastle mother tomorrow

The funeral will take place tomorrow of a tragic 38-year-old mother who died suddenly at her Co Down home.

Ciara Tumelty O’Boyle who managed Base Coffee Company in her hometown of Newcastle, was found at her home on Monday.

Tributes have poured in for the mother-of-one whose funeral will be held on Thursday at 10am in the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption with burial afterwards in St Patrick’s Cemetery in Bryansford.

Local Independent Councillor Willie Clarke, who knew Mrs O’Boyle, said: “I knew Ciara and I know her family and everyone is very vexed about what has happened,” he said.

“She was a really bubbly character and full of life. she would do anything for anyone.

“She managed the local Base coffee shop and was very popular with everyone. This is a terribly blow for her family and in particular her young boy Reece and husband John.”

Local SDLP Councillor, Laura Devlin, said Ciara, who had been a former pupil of St Malachy’s College in Castlewellan, was well liked in the area.

She said Ciara was “absolutely full of life” and came from a “really popular family round Newcastle - everybody would know the Tumeltys”.

Friends of Ciara have paid their respects to her online.

Paul Rafferty said: “RIP Ciara Tum O’Boyle, just heard the tragic news, gone long before her time , heartfelt condolences to Husband John , kids and both the Tumelty and O’Boyle families at this very sad time”.

And Laura-Marie McMullan wrote: “Absolutely devastated by the news of Ciara Tum O’Boyle.. Such a big heart for a small lady. My thoughts and prayers are with all your family Paul Tum Tumelty, stay strong. x x”.

Mrs O’Boyle wil be sadly missed by her husband John, son Reece, father Frank and brother Paul.
