At the time of his death the AFC Facebook page posted: “On behalf of Richhill A.F.C we would like to pass on our sincere condolences to former Broomhill FC players Simon, Mark, Matthew, Aaron and the entire Wilson family on the passing of former Richhill FC Manager Jim.”

A committee member told the News Letter that Mr Wilson “was always happy and would never have passed you without a big hello”.

He added: “He was very popular and known far and wide you could say.

“He set up Richhill AFC with Jackie McCoo and most people would know him through that.

“His death was a great shock as his son was married last Friday and he is still on honeymoon - and then this happens the following week.”
