Games of Thrones landmark damaged after storm causes trees to collapse

A rural Northern Irish landmark which found global fame after being used in the TV show Game of Thrones has been significantly damaged.

An image posted on social media on Friday morning shows at least two of the large old trees at the Dark Hedges in Co Antrim lying on the road – apparently rendering it impassable.

Patrick Cregg of the Woodland Trust believes three in total were downed.

Trees had been felled across the Province following an overnight storm which left thousands without power.
